What to Expect

Long winding roads and picturesque valleys presenting glimpses of cold deserts and snow-crowned mountains, with intermittent greenery and picture-perfect villages welcome you when you set foot into Spiti Valley. Bordered on all sides by the Himalayas, Spiti Valley, located in Himachal Pradesh, has an altitude of 12,500 feet above sea level, and gets around 250 days of sunshine in the year, making it one of the coldest places in the country


  Itinerary

Day 1 : Virgin Paradise- Spiti Valley
Manali

We arrive in Manali early in the morning. Today is a start to explore the beautiful Himalaya. In the later half we do sightseeing in Manali beginning from Old Manali. We’ll visit Hidimba Temple and Manu’s Temple in old part of city. Rest of day can be sent in Old Manali market or mall road.

Day 2 : Spiti Valley
Manali - Kaza

Day 2 – Manali – Kaza

We’ll leave Manali early morning and reach Rohtang pass ( approx 4000m). Rohtang pass separates Manali region from Lahual Spiti, a beautiful stop to try out your photography skills. We’ll then drive towards Batal and stop there for lunch at the only restaurant of the famous Chacha Chachi in the region. The famous couple was also covered by the Discovery & Nat-geo channels.

Then we continue our drive towards Kaza via Kunzum la (4550m) a major pass in Spiti valley that separates Lahual region from Spiti valley. There is a temple dedicated to the goddess Kunzum in the middle of the pass.

We reach Kaza by late evening and stay.

Day 3 : Spiti Valley
Kaza–Key–Kibber

Today is a relatively leisure day. We will start post breakfast towards Kibber

village. One of the most picturesque village in Spiti valley. We spent some time

exploring Kibber which is also a one of the highest inhabited village in the

world. Then we go to key monastery. Key monastery of Gelugpa sect in

Buddhism is one of the oldest Monastries in the region

Evening shopping/ exploring Kaza Market

Day 4 : Spiti Valley
Kaza – Pin valley – Tabo

Pin Valley is famous for it’s wildlife which includes critically endangered Snow

leopards, Ibex, Himalayan bear and Wolf. We’ll spend some time in Kungri

monastery and try to spot some wildlife. Then we’ll drive to Tabo to visit Tabo

Monastery which is more than 1000 years old and is considered one of the

holiest Buddhist sites in the world. There are several caves nearby which are

used by Buddhist monks for meditation in solitude.

Day 5 : Spiti Valley
Tabo – Dhankar – Hikkim – Langza- Kaza

Today is a long run exploring many monasteries and beautiful places on the way. We start early morning from Tabo towards Dhankar monastery. Next morning we’ll drive to Dhankar and visit gompa/monastery which is situated high above the valley. It used to be a fort and residence of king if Spiti. The view from the monastery is mind blowing. We then proceed to Hikkim which has world’s highest polling station and also the world’s highest post office. You can send letter to your dear ones with the stamp. Later we visit Lagnza which has the Buddha statue overlooking the mountain ranges of Spiti valley. Overnight stay in Kaza.

Day 6 : Spiti Valley
Kaza to Chandra tal

The day starts early again as we will be travelling through another scenic and less explored road in Spiti. We head to reach out the Chandra Tal aka Moon lake. Chandratal, the name of the lake is originated from its crescent shape. The mesmerizing lake with crystal clear water gives you a perfect campsite you would visit ever. Stay overnight with a spectacular mountain range

Day 7 : Spiti Valley
Chandra tal to Manali

This day has a journey from another less traveled road. We leave early morning to get an evening free in Manali. This will be one of the most scenic

roads in your entire tour. Enjoy the cold dessert’s last look in tour. This route goes via famous Rohtang pass ( 13,050 ft).

We reach Manali, and enjoy the evening with a successful journey through mountains.

Day 8 : Spiti valley
Manali- Delhi

We aboard Volvos to head back Delhi with many memories for lifetime.
